About Telluride Truffle
PHILANTHROPY: ORGANIZATIONS WE SUPPORT

Because we are committed to making the world a better place, these are the organizations Telluride Truffles financially supports with at least 1% of its’ gross profits.

St. Jude Hospital:
Children's hospital begun by Danny Thomas in 1962. This hospital never turns a child away for financial reasons. They also are on the cutting edge doing successful research for cures of children's diseases. You can read more about this wonderful hospital at www.stjude.org. Or read Danny Thomas's personal story. It is an extremely moving story and a testament of what one person can do to make the world a better place.

The Ski Club:
A dedicated group of instructors in Telluride who teach kids to ski and snowboard. But for anyone who knows anything about teaching sports - they teach more about self confidence and self respect - the skill in a sport is just icing on the cake

Preschools of Telluride:
We are especially committed to children and therefore are supportive of the area preschools.

Search and Rescue:
Search and Rescue is comprised of a lot of very talented and giving people who drop everything at any time to go save someone's life up in the mountains surrounding Telluride. They do this for free not to mention risking their life every time they go out on a call. Address: Eric Berg, Search and Rescue, 85163 L Road, Telluride, CO 81435

From time to time Telluride Truffle is called by people in town to donate truffles for various benefits. The community of Telluride has been very generous in their support of this company and therefore we return the compliment whenever asked.

Urban Debate League:
Urban Debate League is an organization that teaches kids the skills of debate in the intercity. Now that is all good and fine, but why give money? Teenagers are at a very passionate point in their lives. And they love to argue or stew about how wrong things are. But what they aren't so good at is seeing the other side not to mention how to structure them into logical arguments. Debate competition teaches you to see both sides of all arguments and also how to defend all arguments with researched facts. I used to teach high school debate and know what a tremendous tool debate is for teenagers and this organization is making it work. In one Baltimore high school 7 out of 8 debate team members are going to college. And they weren't headed that way before joining the team. Check out what 60 Minutes said about this organization in a recent broadcast. Or to give money click onto their website www.urbandebate.org.
